PDFly — Privacy Policy
Effective Date: April 26, 2026 | Last Updated: May 19, 2026
1. Who we are
PDFly ("we", "our", or "the app") is a mobile application published by Future Editz. This policy explains what data the app does — and does not — collect, use, and share.
If you have questions, contact us at support@futureeditz.com.
2. The short version
- Your PDF files stay on your device: All offline tools process documents locally. We never upload your files to our servers for those tools.
- No account: PDFly does not require sign-up, sign-in, or an email address.
- We show ads: Ads are served by Meta Audience Network (Facebook). Meta may collect a limited set of device-level information (advertising ID, approximate IP-derived location, basic device data) to deliver and measure ads.
- You're in control: You can reset or limit the advertising ID at any time in your device's system settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads on most Android devices).
3. Information we do not collect
PDFly itself does not:
- Collect your name, email address, or phone number
- Read, scan, transmit, or store the contents of your PDF files (for on-device tools)
- Track your location at the OS level (no GPS / fine-location requests)
- Share any data with third parties beyond what's described in §4 (advertising) and §10 (infrastructure)
The PDFs you create, view, or edit live inside your app's private storage and the public Downloads folder you choose. They are not sent off the device for offline processing.
4. Information collected by Meta Audience Network
PDFly is supported by ads served via Meta Audience Network (the advertising SDK from Meta Platforms). When ads are displayed, Meta may collect or process:
- Advertising ID (AAID / GAID): A resettable identifier you control in Android Settings.
- Approximate location: Derived from IP address; no GPS data is requested by us.
- Device information: Model, OS version, language, network type.
- Ad interaction data: Impressions, clicks, view duration.
- Diagnostic data: When ads fail to load (handled by the ad SDK).
Meta uses this data to serve ads, measure ad performance, prevent fraud, and improve advertising services. Meta's use of this data is governed by:
5. GDPR / EEA / UK / Switzerland users
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights under the GDPR / UK GDPR, including access, correction, deletion, and objection to certain processing.
- You can limit or reset your advertising ID in your device settings.
- You can contact us at support@futureeditz.com to exercise your rights or ask questions about advertising data.
- If you use cloud/AI features (when enabled), separate processing may apply as described in the app and our terms.
We do not require an account to use PDFly. Where personalised advertising applies in your region, applicable law may require consent — follow any prompts shown by your device or the ad network, and contact us if you need help.
6. California / CCPA users
PDFly does not "sell" personal information for money. Under the CCPA's broad definition, the use of advertising identifiers for personalised advertising may be considered a "share" of personal information. You can limit personalised ads by adjusting your device's advertising ID settings and contacting support@futureeditz.com.
7. Children under 13
PDFly is rated Everyone but is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will assist with any associated identifiers we can influence.
The app does not target children: no kid-friendly UI, no in-app purchases, no chat features, no gamification.
8. Permissions PDFly requests, and why
| Permission | Used for |
|---|---|
| INTERNET | Loading ads. Never used to upload your files for offline tools. |
| READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (≤ Android 13) | Reading PDFs and images you select. |
| READ_MEDIA_IMAGES (Android 13+) | Reading images you select for "Image → PDF". |
| CAMERA | Camera-to-PDF tool. Photos stay on your device. |
| WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (≤ Android 9) | Saving outputs to Downloads folder on legacy Android only. |
PDFly does not request: location, contacts, microphone, calendar, SMS, or call logs.
9. Data retention
- Your PDF outputs: Kept on your device until you delete them.
- Local credit balance / preferences: Kept in app storage; cleared if you uninstall the app.
- Advertising data: Retained by Meta per their policies.
Uninstalling PDFly removes all locally stored data tied to the app.
10. Third-party services we use
11. Security
We use Android's standard sandboxing — your files live in app-private storage that other apps cannot read. Our release builds are signed and code-shrunk. Where data is sent to Meta or Google for ads/analytics, it is sent over HTTPS.
That said, no system is 100% secure. Don't put critical secrets in PDFs and forget about them — encrypt sensitive documents before sharing.
12. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy if our data practices change. The "Last Updated" date above will reflect any change. Significant changes will be flagged in-app via the next update's release notes.
